We have been asked by many to give some of our advice on Medela items.
So what do you need when you are having a baby?? This is something we get asked on a daily basis and it usually is one of the hardest questions to answer as everyone will need completely different items and this is determined by your child.
For starters as a pregnant mom its always good to have a great support to hold up baby and keep them from putting strain on your back. This is where there are a lot of options and brands. One of the top ones is the Medela support and most moms like the adjustability of it, and remember size is always pre-pregnancy. Other supports are made by prenatal cradle are more orthopedic in nature and can often be bulkier but with some added supports for the heavy babies.
What about creams and lotions? Well this is not as hard since there are only a handful of companies and the leader of the market happens to be Mustela. Their entire line is tested and re-tested to ensure highest quality items and always dermatological safe. The lotions for stretch marks, the everyday handy wipes, the shower gels, diaper therapy are the leading in this market. In addition their new eczema line (Stelatopia) provides nourishing skin health.
What about breast pumps?? Well as everyone knows there is a new brand out everyday and why not go with the most trusted that has been used for decades — Medela. Medela offers a wide range of pumps for use but the one we love the most is the Symphony. Using this over the pump in style ensures that you will not pump for prolonged time since this hospital grade pump is up to better par. There are 2 versions one that comes with a rechargeable battery and one without. There is also a new preemie pump that they make. For the every day on the go the swing pump is a great option or the always trusted manual pump — Harmony is a favorite. Remember the milk needs to be stored and there are great solution ranging from storage bags, to low-high capacity bottles, and even a Milk Bank System.
What about feeding items? Bottles? Nipples? Take our advise do not buy a single brand only. The baby is the boss here and they will love or hate a nipple you may think is great as you read it was. Buy a bottle of 2 or 3 brands and sterilize them at home (steam is preferred, but microwave is ok, can use avent or medela) and then see what your baby likes prior to buying more bottles. The new player our there is Mimijumi — WOW a bottle that has been designed to exactly match a nipple and venting system that really works — WE LOVE THIS. This system is designed by a Doctor and the care put into this speaks for itself. Pacifiers are like nipples so don’t get too many of one brand or you will throw them out if your baby does not want them. If you are looking for the classic hospital pacifiers Wubbanub has you covered with the old fashioned soothie pacifier.
We love to hear your comments on what you have used and loved and if you want to hear of any more topics or items.
